Going digital for church ministries and worship services may be uncharted territory for many churches, as country lockdowns continue for some countries battling a second wave of COVID-19 infections. Even though restrictions are beginning to ease in other countries which have passed the pandemic peak, physical distancing is still necessary and public gatherings frowned upon. In this setting, churches are compelled to hasten and adopt the use of technology to conduct church services and ministries in an unprecedented way.

Several ecumenical organisations have organised an hour-long webinar to share inspiration, knowledge and ‘best practices’ for churches as they explore new ministry opportunities and challenges in being the Church online. Topics discussed will include the online experience of churches during lock-down, achieving engagement and participation online, planning the Churches’ interactive digital presence and Orthodox perspective on the ministry of the Church online. It will be live-streamed at www.oikoumene.org/live on 29 April, 15.00 CET.
