The Presbyterian Church in Singapore (PCS) is working with various local and international church and government organisations to support COVID-19 relief initiatives. This includes responding to the urgent appeal from the Disaster Relief Committee of Southern Presbytery of Gereja Presbyterian Malaysia (GPM), which is also a CWM member church. GPM faces a lack of medical resources, especially in government hospitals, as well as material needs for the less privileged communities.

Another urgent request came from a ministry partner in Nepal, which aims to provide financial support for 200 needy families in Kathmandu. The Synod and members of PCS have supported this relief project, with the money being used to purchase a month’s worth of food supplies for each family. 153 families have benefited from this relief work as of 6 May 2020. More help will be available for such families once the Nepalese authorities approve the subsequent distribution permit.
