The Mission Secretary for the Pacific, Rev Fei Taulealeausumai initiated a visit to Uniting World (Uniting Church of Australia) to follow through a collaborative work on Climate Change and Gender Justice which begun in March and April of 2015. The meeting was an opportunity to continue to network and collaborate on areas of work that both CWM and UW share in common.

We met with a view to see where we could share our work with our member churches instead of duplicating the same work for the same member churches particularly in the areas of Climate Change and Gender Justice. We also looked at the possibility of a shared Climate Change officer based in Tuvalu who would work for both UW and CWM.

We also discussed the Women’s program “Transforming Lives through Leadership” and ways that we could support each other.  We looked at what options currently exist in capacity building through education from Diploma level up to Post graduate level, scholarships UW sponsor and how we can encourage our member churches to follow through after basic training using our CWM CDP and scholarship options available.

It was a great opportunity to network and look at how we can share common resources now and in the future.
