The Training in Mission Programme is one of CWM’s initiatives with the youth and will be held on 1st May to 30th November 2018. The deadline of submission of applications is on 15th November 2017.

The Training in Mission (TIM) Programme aims to promote leadership and service to the church and God’s mission, by providing opportunity for a group of young adults — aged 18 to 30 years old, single and not yet ordained — to seven (7) months of mission learning in theory and in practice through classes, exposure visits, projects and hands-on work in various contexts.

The TIM Programme aims to provide training for life. It is intended to be a stage in Christian formation which helps each participant in a life–long involvement with the mission of the church. It also aims to offer training which provides wider vision; deepened commitment; and a strengthened sense of fellowship and partnership with other fellow Christians around the world, particularly through CWM member-churches.

Moreover, the regular TIM Programme is now transformed into Diploma in Mission Studies under the Trinity Methodist Theological College in Auckland, New Zealand. Qualified participants and graduates of the TIM Programme will receive a Diploma in Mission Studies certification at the end of the Programme. Specifically, through this CWM and the member churches will equip individuals the knowledge and skills to manage and lead a wide range of mission roles. Moreover, graduates will possess qualification which recognise applied leadership skills in mission and education to enhance employment opportunities or to work in a voluntary capacity.

All applications must be endorsed by the General Secretary and/or Moderator of the sending church, following the internal selection process. Interested applicants may send the forms to (email): empowerment@cwmission.org.

The selection will be done on the basis of their essay, taking in consideration balance in gender and regional representation in the Programme. Please note that participants must hold a valid passport and CWM will not cover the cost of the passport nor processing of the participant’s visa requirements.
