Advent is a time of joyful hope and prayerful preparation of our hearts while we await the Lord’s coming. This is especially so as the year draws to a close and we enter a season known for over-consumption and revelry in our highly commercialised world. Join us in this journey in preparing room in our hearts to remember the less fortunate and venerable – especially human trafficking victims and displaced refugees desperately in need of welcome. As we light Advent candles each week, may we also reflect on what it means for each of us to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly” (Micah 6:8).
